Exciting News About Death Stranding and Its Expansion!
Introduction
Hey everyone! As we eagerly await fresh updates about Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, the brilliant mind behind the series, Hideo Kojima, dropped some major news in an interview with Variety. He revealed that he sees Death Stranding as a multimedia project and is considering expanding the game’s universe into other formats, like anime and more.
What’s Happening?
Kojima shared his thoughts on future plans for the franchise:
"Now, to reinforce our intellectual property, we are making a sequel, which is a game. We will continue to add more in various platforms. What comes next are different forms of media: movies, anime, TV series, etc. This is the second phase. I created Kojima Productions within the scope of ‘digital entertainment,’ but I don’t think it necessarily has to be a video game. We could create a new IP from a game, or from an anime, or from a movie, or something entirely different."
Expansion into the Anime World
Kojima also touched on the idea of using anime as a means to expand the franchise:
"Since we created a game and own the IP, we are free to expand it as we wish. Thus, the third phase consists of movies and anime, and it will be a new beginning."
What Do You Think?
Let’s have a quick discussion here: Would Death Stranding make a good anime? What do you think about the idea of taking the game’s story to new platforms?
